AHWG Interview Series: Sasha Simon on Harm Reduction-Based Drug Education
Adolescent Health Working Group is excited to launch a new video series that highlights how nonprofits, public agencies, and providers support the health and safety of young people.
In our inaugural interview, we discuss Harm Reduction-Based Drug Education with Adolescent Health Working Group Board Member Sasha Simon. As the Safety First Senior Program Manager at the Drug Policy Alliance, Simon discusses the timely and compelling need for Safety First, the U.S.’s first harm reduction-based drug education curriculum for 9th and 10th grade students, and provides expert advice on how parents and caregivers can take a more active role in their child’s drug education, and tips for health educators who are trying to adapt to using online tools for remote teaching.
