Adam Ryan Chang’s New Role at AHWG
Adam Ryan Chang, AHWG’s Director since late 2018, is shifting roles to join our Steering Committee. Below is a note that Adam shared with the AHWG community.
Please join everyone on the AHWG team in wishing Adam well in his new role as Executive Director at Oasis Legal Services.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I joined the Adolescent Health Working Group four and a half years ago. My task was to work with the existing steering committee to either secure funding and expand AHWG’s work or take the steps needed to sunset the organization.
From the outset, it was clear that the collaboration and community that AHWG develops are critical for creating new resources, trainings, leadership opportunities for youth, and peer-to-peer networks for providers. Over the last few years, I’ve been continually amazed by the dedication, compassion, and knowledge embedded in the AHWG community.
I share with excitement and melancholy that my role with AHWG is changing. I will be stepping down as Executive Director and shifting to AHWG’s Steering Committee as I embark on my next chapter as the Executive Director of Oasis Legal Services, supporting LGBTQ+ immigrants in seeking asylum in the United States.
As a member of the Steering Committee, I look forward to continuing to support AHWG and adolescent health from a new vantage point. I am committed to leveraging my experience and insights gained as AHWG’s Director to contribute to strategic decision-making, provide guidance on organizational priorities, and ensure AHWG remains on a path of growth and impact. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my involvement with AHWG and look forward to working with you all.
My colleague, Justin Clark, is taking over as AHWG’s temporary director. He has supported our work for several years and will be a steward for the organization as we work to increase our funding and hire a long-term director. Please join me in welcoming Justin to this role.
I’ve loved working with the AHWG community, and you’ve inspired our work in so many ways. Thank you for being so committed to this network and supporting one another in providing the best care within adolescent health.
